Our student spotlight series highlights the accomplishments, inspirations, and personalities of students at The Tepper School. Black History Month provides a special opportunity to recognize and elevate the voices of our African American community here at the Tepper School.
This spotlight highlights Sandra Vordzorgbe (MBA 2026), and her journey of embracing flexible career goals while advocating for diversity and inclusivity.
Question and Answer:
How do you intend to use your Tepper School degree? What is your dream job?
My goal immediately after graduation is to go into consulting and eventually end up as a people manager. Outside of corporate, I hope to use my education to open a beauty parlor as well as reinvest into the community my family is from in Ghana.
What advice would you offer prospective students?
Be open to possibilities that you may not have previously considered. A lot of the time we have our hearts and minds set on things that may not be part of the overall plan for us but that doesn’t mean something else isn’t. That something else might even be better for us, but we have to be willing to take the chance.
Why are affinity recognitions such as Women’s History Month, Pride Month, Black History Month, etc. important in your opinion?
These months are important for the groups involved and their allies as well. Though what’s being celebrated/honored should be every day and respected all the time, sometimes that’s not the case whether purposefully or because of the pace of everyday life. Taking time out of the year to recognize trailblazers, opportunities, history, and everyone involved in this group, is necessary to move toward a more equitable society where these groups can be celebrated and respected every day as commonplace practice.
What is your current favorite TV show, podcast, book, or other form of entertainment?
My favorite TV shows at the moment are The Sopranos and Industry on HBO/MAX. Because of TikTok, I decided to give The Sopranos a try and it instantly became a favorite. Industry has been my favorite for some years now because to a certain degree it shows the complexities of corporate America and the financial services industry from the perspective of new graduates.
