Tepper Reunion 2021 Is Going Virtual This April
The Alumni Office and class volunteers are hard at work developing an engaging schedule for you to enjoy, including:
- An update and fireside chat with Dean Isabelle Bajeux-Besnainou.
- Engaging faculty presentations and alumni panels.
- Class-specific social gatherings, games, and activities.
- Virtual tours of the Tepper Quad.
- Expert-led interactive culinary demonstrations, and more!
As the most important part of any reunion, virtual or in-person, is bringing people back together, we want to hear your thoughts! Please take a moment to share your feedback via this survey to help us create a celebration you will look forward to attending.
As always, if you are interested in volunteering in support of your class, or if you have other ideas and thoughts to share with us, please contact the Alumni Office today!

Looking Ahead to Reunion 2021
As the Alumni Relations team moves into the summer months, we would ordinarily be visiting with many of you at lively alumni events around the country, and beginning to welcome new Reunion volunteers into their respective class committees. While it is clear that this is no ordinary summer, the need for staying connected has never been more important. As our collective time of separation stretches on, we recognize that eventually, we will all be gathering for what we hope are many warm reunions. Not just those at the Tepper School, but of our families, friends, social circles, and professional networks. With the optimistic hope that we will be able to reunite in 2021, we ask you to continue to hold the date for Reunion Weekend 2021: April 16 -17.
Currently, we are planning to honor the MBA and MSIA class years ending in 0, 1, 5, and 6. Additionally, we will also celebrate the First-Year Reunions for both the classes of 2019 and 2020.
We know that large gatherings going forward will look much different than those of years past, and we invite you to help us reimagine and shape the future of Reunion Weekend as we move into this uncharted territory. While the format will hopefully be a hybrid of in-person and remote opportunities to celebrate, no version of it is possible without the dedication of our Class Committee Volunteers. We encourage those of you interested in supporting Reunion Weekend, to consider bringing your creativity, enthusiasm, and networking skills to your MBA/MSIA Class Committees. If you are interested in volunteering in support of your class, or if you have other ideas and thoughts to share with us, please contact the Alumni Office today!
Over the course of two weeks and 11 Zoom calls, we gathered with over 250 alumni (and their partners, children, and pets!). Alumni joined in from dozens of time zones, scattered around the globe, and it was a joy in these unique times to see you all come together over the miles to reconnect and reminisce.
We in the alumni office welcome any and all feedback you would like to share to help improve future virtual events. We have heard from several of you that similar virtual meetups would be effective in the summer, fall, or spring as well to keep classmates connected in advance of in-person Reunion Weekends, so please reach out to us if you’d like to learn more about setting up future online get-togethers for your class.
Planning for Reunion 2021 (April 16-17) will start back up in the months to come, but please contact us with any questions or ideas you may want to share with us in the meantime.
April 6, 2020
We hope this week finds you and your loved ones safe and well, and that you are finding positive ways to adapt to the new routines that this situation has created.
While preliminary plans are in the works to reschedule your in-person reunion for April 16-17, 2021 (a combined "double" Reunion with classes ending in “1” and “6”), we know many of you don't want to wait a year to connect.
Your Reunion Committees have been supporting the Alumni Office in finding new ways for everyone to connect in the meantime, and so we ask you to save the date for individual Virtual Class Parties:
- Friday, April 17, 8 p.m. ET: Classes of 1975, 1980, 1985
- Saturday, April 18, 8 p.m. ET: Classes of 1990, 1995, 2005
- Friday, April 24, 8 p.m. ET: Classes of 1970, 2000, 2010
- Saturday, April 25, 8 p.m. ET: Classes of 2015 & 2019
More information will be shared via email with those who sign up using the button above, including instructions for joining the Zoom meeting and some fun suggestions for a lively class get together. We hope you can join us!
In the meantime, we encourage you to take a moment to learn about additional ways to stay connected with the Tepper School and with fellow alumni, via this message from Alumni Board President Rob Rice and Alumni Relations Executive Director John Sengenberger.
March 13, 2020
As you are aware, the situation regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) is rapidly unfolding and Tepper School and CMU leadership have been working diligently to plan for future contingencies across all areas of the university. On Friday, March 13, CMU announced the cancellation of the annual Spring Carnival and Reunion Weekend, which includes the Tepper School Reunion Weekend as well. As the situation continues to evolve, updates will be shared on the CMU Coronavirus Information Center.
It was a decision not taken lightly but deemed necessary out of concern for the health and safety of our Tepper School community and your families. For those of you who have previously registered for the Tepper School Reunion, full refunds will automatically be processed over the course of the next week. If you made a hotel reservation in one of the Tepper Reunion hotel blocks and will no longer be traveling to Pittsburgh, you will need to make arrangements to cancel that reservation directly with your hotel.
We know many of you have been looking forward to this Reunion Weekend for months, if not years, and we share in your disappointment in not being able to gather together to celebrate your important milestone. We are however currently evaluating a range of options for rescheduling your Reunion Weekend celebration and will be in touch in the coming weeks and/or months with additional information, as it becomes available.
As always, our first priority is protecting the health of you and the Tepper community and so we thank you again for your understanding and patience as we navigate these uncharted waters. Please feel free to email us at email@example.com with any questions you may have in the meantime.
