Tepper School Students Earn National Recognition for Business Excellence

Sheila Davis

Priya Shah and Winston Zha, two outstanding students from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University, have been named recipients of the prestigious Poets and Quants, "100 Best & Brightest Undergraduate Business Majors Of 2024."

This recognition is bestowed upon undergraduate students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership qualities, and potential for future success in the field of business.

When asked about the source of her success, Shah (left) credited her grandfather, "He made so many sacrifices for me, so that I could be as successful as I wanted to be, and he did so happily with a smile. He is the reason why I am where I am today."

Each year, Poets & Quants selects a limited number of undergraduate business majors from institutions around the world to receive this esteemed honor. Recipients are chosen based on a rigorous evaluation process that considers academic performance, extracurricular involvement, internships or work experience, letters of recommendation, and personal essays.

Zha (right) emphasized the importance of teamwork as he reflected on his college education.

"One can have all the technical skills they want, but if people do not want to listen to them, their technical skills are good for naught in our increasingly collaborative world. Learning to work with people with different strengths and weaknesses is one of the most important things studying business taught me."

Being recognized as one of the Best & Brightest Undergraduate Business Majors by Poets & Quants is a testament to a student's dedication, passion, and potential to make a significant impact in the business world.

Congratulations Priya and Winston!
