HR Generalist II

Job Profile Summary

The HR generalist II is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR business partner in supporting designated college and administrative units. To that end, this position will assist the HR business partner in a variety of HR activities such as off-boarding, performance management, recruitment, policy interpretation, workforce planning activities and employee relations. This position will also function as a Workday expert, entering and approving department-related transactions into Workday on a daily basis. With advanced expertise in Workday and other related systems, this individual will mentor and guide HRG I as well as provide additional training and support for newly hired HRGs. Additionally, the HRG II will actively engage in the implementation of the OHR’s strategic plan and continuous improvement initiatives.

Level II positions typically demonstrate proficient and comprehensive knowledge of defined skill areas; apply knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization to complete difficult assignments; promote a culture that is conducive to effective relationships among diverse staff members; may lead a project team involved in completion of difficult assignments, requires proficient knowledge of field of specialization; interpret and communicate information, ideas and instructions clearly, accurately and persuasively, both verbally and in writing, including materials intended for distribution; incorporate new facts and ideas into group processes and apply creative thinking to develop new solutions; typically work with minimal supervision on difficult assignments, consulting with supervisor or HR Business Partner on unusual matters.
