The university offers benefits to eligible faculty and staff members working in Rwanda. Eligible employees may cover their eligible dependents under certain benefits. Benefits eligible expatriate employees may register and cover their same- or opposite-sex domestic partner. Offerings and coverage are determined by your employment status (full- or part-time, expatriate or local).

Eligibility Requirements
- Full-time, benefits-eligible —Scheduled Hours: At least 37.5 hours per week or 100% of a full-time schedule
- Part-time, benefits-eligible — Scheduled Hours: At least 17.5 hours per week or 46.7% of a full-time schedule
- Not benefits-eligible — Scheduled Hours: Less than 17.5 hours per week or 46.7% of a full-time schedule
Retirement Savings Eligibility
- All employees who are U.S. citizens (expatriate or local hire) may contribute to a retirement savings plan by payroll deduction.
- Full-time employees who are paid in USD and are expatriates are eligible for university contributions to a retirement savings plan.
- Part-time employees who are paid in USD and are expatriates are eligible for university contributions once they reach 1,000 hours in an employment year.
Specific eligibility requirements (such as minimum hours worked, citizenship, U.S. sourced income/expatriate status, service requirement, etc.) or different benefit levels may exist.

- Pre-tax or post-tax (Roth) supplemental contributions to the FSRP (expatriates with U.S. sourced income and U.S. citizen local hires only)
