Time Away from Work
Carnegie Mellon respects the balance you seek to achieve between your professional and private lives. From taking care of yourself or a child with a minor illness to coping with a disabling condition, you may have a variety of reasons for needing to be away from work.
The university provides several types of benefits to accommodate your needs to take time off. The eligibility requirements and compensation / benefits for each type of leave differ. In all cases, you should notify your supervisor and seek approval for time away from work with as much advance notice as possible.
