HR Generalist I

Job Profile Summary

The HR generalist I position provides an opportunity for an individual to grow their HR knowledge and advance their career in Human Resources. This position typically reports to and takes direction from the director, Human Resources. This position performs a wide variety of HR-related functions, including but not limited to: processing transactions in Workday, handling collaborating visitor inquiries, generating reports and documents, supporting the performance review and merit process, and resolving or assisting with basic employee relations issues. The HR generalist I will regularly conduct research and benchmark HR best practices in support of ongoing diversity and inclusion efforts. The role will also be involved in managing/coordinating HR projects both within designated units and across campus as well as helping to implement improved departmental business processes. Additionally, the HRG I will actively engage in the implementation of the OHR’s strategic plan and continuous improvement initiatives.
