Improving Student Worker Web Content
In a collaborative effort, the Office of Human Resources and the Career and Professional Development Center (CPDC) partnered to streamline and improve web content for student workers and those who support student workers on campus. This resulted in several new and refreshed webpages.
- A student employment landing page hosted on the CPDC website that helps student workers and supervisors navigate to the following pages:
- Student Workers:
- Find a Job: Information to help students find a job on campus.
- Start a Job: Helps new student workers navigate the onboarding process to start working and receive pay. We've also created a Form I-9 page and video to help student workers navigate this key onboarding step.
- Student Worker Resources: A one-stop location for all HR-related student worker resources, including tutorial videos, payroll resources, time tracking information, work hours, and compensation and benefits.
- Supervisors, hiring managers and others who support student workers:
- Recruit Student Workers: Provides supervisors with tools to post available positions and to recruit the right students for the job.
- Hire and Support Student Workers: Tools and resources for those who support student workers such as supervisors. Also includes a Key Dates page with important dates related to hourly student employment.
- Promote Career-Readiness: Provides information on CMU’s GROW program which is focused on student career readiness and growth.
- Student Workers:
We would like to thank our campus partners and the Student Worker Advisory Committee for their support, suggestions and input.
