New Hire Orientation to Be Offered In Person

The Office of Human Resources is excited to announce that after more than a three-year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic, New Hire Orientation (NHO) will return to an in-person format.

Monthly NHO sessions will continue to be offered virtually, but there will now be an additional quarterly session presented in person. Whether you attend virtually or in person, NHO is packed with valuable information presented by representatives of HR and other departments from around campus. The information helps new employees get their feet on the ground and learn about some of the resources and benefits available to CMU employees.

For those who choose to attend an in-person session, there will also be the option to participate in a guided tour around the campus immediately following the session to help new employees become familiar with their new surroundings and see points of interest and history.

All new employees are encouraged to spend a few hours — in either a virtual or in-person session — to get oriented and to learn about:

  • CMU’s history
  • How your role fits into the university’s mission and vision
  • How other departments can support you
  • Important policies and procedures

Visit the New Hire Orientation page to register or to access new hire resources.
