Recruiting Enhancements
The Office of Human Resources has been working hard over the spring and summer to improve and streamline our recruitment processes. This includes introducing new tools in Workday Recruiting and a new streamlined approach to engaging external staffing firms.
Workday Recruiting Updates
Workday Recruiting is our one-stop hub for all staff talent acquisition activities. As of September 6, we have further enhanced Workday Recruiting for candidates, hiring managers and those who support the recruiting process to include the following features:
- Prospect introduce yourself: Through this new feature, individuals can express interest in working at CMU and provide their resume without having to apply for a specific position, providing a larger pool of prospective candidates for recruiters and hiring managers.
- Apply with LinkedIn: Candidates can now apply to CMU jobs using their LinkedIn profile.
- Text messaging: Candidates can opt to receive text messages during the recruitment and hiring process. Recruiters and candidates can communicate via two-way text messaging making communication faster and easier.
- Interview feedback: A new feedback tool allows interviewers to submit their interview ratings in Workday. Hiring managers and recruiters can review and evaluate the ratings in a central location, further supporting a structured interview and evaluation process.
- Increased collaboration: Recruiters and hiring managers can collaborate more easily in Workday via recruiting and candidate notes.
Engaging an External Staffing Firm
Our new Engaging a Staffing Firm page provides guidance on how to engage with executive, direct-hire and temporary staffing firm. It includes lists of approved staffing firms and new object codes to use for staffing firm related expenses. To engage an external staffing firm, please contact your recruiter.
