Domestic Plan Changes
What's new for 2026:
- Changes to Deductibles, Coinsurance and Copayments
 - New Flexible Spending Account Limits
 - New Voluntary Benefits: Critical Illness and Legal

Changes to Medical and Prescription Plan Designs; No Rate Increases
For 2026, plan costs were scheduled to increase by 8%. To mitigate this rate increase, CMU is modifying deductible, coinsurance and copayment amounts. These changes better align our offerings with industry standards and benchmark plan designs, while maintaining employee choice and flexibility through a continuum of plan design options. There are no changes to the dental or vision plan designs or rates.

- Critical Illness Insurance with MetLife pays a full lump sum benefit directly to you if you are diagnosed with a covered illness that meets the plan criteria. Even the most generous medical plan does not cover all the expenses of a serious medical condition like a heart attack or cancer. The benefit is paid in addition to any other insurance coverage you may have.
 - MetLife Legal Insurance gives you access to thousands of in-network attorneys in all 50 states, specializing in various areas of law for a low monthly cost. Covered services include wills, traffic issues, real estate, document preparation, family law, estate planning and more.
