Bio

Ruth is a medical product development professional with entrepreneurial experience during her graduate studies in Pittsburgh. Her professional experience ranges from pre-seed university spinouts to the largest healthcare organizations, including Johnson & Johnson. Currently, she delivers FDA regulatory strategy and submissions to the orthopedic device manufacturer’s, Arthrex, market leading shoulder arthroscopy portfolio. She is furthering her venture finance education through Venture Capital (VC) University, a joint initiative between Berkeley Law, Venture Forward and the NVCA, where she was awarded the Life Sciences Scholarship from leading VC firms. In her role spearheading business development of the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) spinout, Advanced Optronics, she pitched at the finals of Rice Business Plan Competition and secured nearly $50k in prizes. She has since supported university spinouts from CMU, The University of Pittsburgh, and Northeastern University with mentoring and strategic advising in fundraising, pitch decks, business plans and introductions. Ruth holds a BS in Biochemistry from Bucknell University and MS from the University of Pittsburgh in Bioengineering and Medical Product Engineering.
