Bio

Eric Burns co-founded Panopto, a leading video search and management platform, in 2007 based on technology he developed as a researcher at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science.  He served as CTO through 2015 and as CEO until stepping down in 2022.  Since then, he spends his time investing in and serving on the boards of emerging technology companies, with a focus on on AI and enterprise software.  He joined AI2 Incubator in Seattle 2023 as a Venture Partner.  Eric received his bachelor's degree in Information Systems from Carnegie Mellon University. Eric specializes in companies related to AI/ML, enterprise SaaS, and Education Technology ("EdTech"), but enjoys working with all types of technology companies.  His areas of expertise include:
