Bio

Laura has used her education from Carnegie Mellon in Computer Science and with the Tepper School of Business to follow multiple pathways in life. Always under the backdrop of her earliest research work with the university’s Cognitive Psychology department where she was influenced by Nobel Prize and Turing Aware Winner Herb Simon and his thought leadership around AI, organizational decision making and economics.  This has followed her career in her passion for the intersection of business strategy, customer discovery and the user centered design of products, workflow and technology; agnostic to the market segment. 

As an entrepreneur , she co-founded a virtual reality medical imaging system which many local and other medical professionals used in their training. As a global strategy consultant she worked with clients like Disney, DuPont, Prudential and Louisville Slugger to define and execute change on a large scale with returns of $40M+. As an elected public official and Board President of multiple of organizations, she has had accountability for budgets of over $65M budget and had direct governance responsibility for policy.  

While raising five children she led multiple education-based non profits, including opening a school for 300 in Kenya, and began specializing in early stage life science product commercialization and AI based technologies.  She is affiliated with LifeX, Innovation Institute, Innovation Works, IMPACT and NSF i-Corps. Her recent collaborations include Korion Health, Resilient LifeSciences, Cosegna Pharma, Edulis, LICA, NOMA AI, Looped Solutions (Ohana) and AcceloWave.. She is also VP of Operations and Development for Encompass Remote, a chronic care and remote patient monitoring company started in 2022 who reached $1M in revenue in 2024.
