CMU ENTREPRENEURS! APPLY TO THE EXTREME TECH CHALLENGE THROUGH MARCH, 2020

The Extreme Tech ChallengeSM (XTC) global startup competition discovers and supports new technologies and innovations to solve the world's most extreme problems. Drawing from the United Nation's 17 Sustainable Development Goals, XTC® partners will encourage the world’s most promising entrepreneurs to develop solutions to the greatest challenges facing humankind. The XTC® Competition will also connect innovators with a network of investors and entrepreneurs, and provide up to $10M in funding to top contenders.

The XTC® Competition is open to all product or service submissions based on a new technology or an innovative application of an existing technology built by the submitting company. Applicants must be legally incorporated—or registered—in their country of origin. The proposed business cannot be in violation of any intellectual property rights, including but not limited to patent infringement.

FRONT-END REACT DEVELOPER (CONTRACT TO HIRE)

A venture-funded startup focused on helping companies manage the lifecycle of using machine learning is seeking a Front-end React Developer to assist with a user-facing application that is latency-sensitive and has a backend service written in Python using MongoDB. The front-end uses React Hooks. The company is located in Oakland near CMU.

The ideal candidate should be able to solve immediate application development needs under a contract basis with the possibility of becoming a full-time position. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the U.S. and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. REGISTRATION OPEN FOR 2020 LAUNCH FACTORY

Launch Factory, a startup studio based out of San Diego, California, is creating opportunities for talented entrepreneurs to launch and grow new startups. The studio will source and develop concepts for future businesses, then host a recruitment process to select Founders for those businesses. Launch Factory companies receive a $300K investment, office space, and incubation. Founders can take a salary and get a two-thirds equity stake in the new company.

Optum is seeking early-stage startups focused in the healthcare Industry with innovative and transformative product offerings in Care Delivery, Remote Patient Monitoring, Telemedicine and Population Management. Optum will invest $50K and provide office space next to Carnegie Mellon University's campus, industry resources and expertise for the startups selected.
