Founder and Principal, Prosperity Innovations
Africa, Energy, FinTech, Social Enterprise
I have spent much of my career either developing or commercializing new technologies, most recently in the energy, sanitation and fintech sectors. For the past ten years, a significant portion of this work was focused internationally, with particular emphasis on countries in sub Saharan Africa. This experience included a 1-year gig with the Stanford SEED program, living in Accra, Ghana and coaching 11 companies headquartered in Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal. For the past 5 years, I have also worked on the transition of advanced sanitation technologies that have required the development of new business models to release the social benefits and encourage the entry of private-sector actors. My experience has included the integration of grants and novel financial instruments, e.g. Social Impact Bonds, into these projects.
In my 35-year career, I have developed knowledge and experience in the areas of:
- Design Thinking and Customer Discovery
- Corporate Governance
- Financial Modeling
- Business Model Innovation incorporating Non-Market Factors
- Capital Raising, including Social Impact investors and Social Impact Bonds
If your venture requires innovative concepts for unlocking their social benefits, I’d be delighted to review your venture and provide you feedback .
