Bio

Sungjoon Steve Won is passionate about design, productivity, and better ways of shaping ideas. He has led different teams in the past, helped design products millions of people use everyday, and drove new product initiatives. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon with bachelor's and master's degrees in Computer Science and Human-Computer Interaction, Class of 2008.

He was most recently part of the leadership team at Coda, a startup building all-in-one docs that are as powerful as apps. Before Coda, he was the head of Product & Incubation Studio at NAVER. He led the team responsible for new product incubation and also the experience of Whale web browser and Papago translator. Prior to NAVER, Sungjoon was at Microsoft and Samsung. He helped design platforms millions of people use including Office, Windows, and Samsung Galaxy. He also led initiatives that became a new product category (such as Samsung's S View Cover) or served as an inspiration for future work (such as Microsoft's Hub Keyboard). Currently, he's the founder of Be01 (be01.com) - a software company researching and building better tools for ideas and idea builders, including founders and aspiring entrepreneurs.

His work has received awards from Good Design, iF Design, & IBM, and has been shown at international venues such as ACM CHI & London Design Biennale. He's authored a book in Korea previously. Steve is excited to help entrepreneurs navigate the crucial early stages of product development, offering practical insights from his experience bringing different products from concept to market.
