Arts Greenhouse

The Arts Greenhouse began as a community project of the Center for the Arts in Society. It is a hip-hop music education program that serves Pittsburgh teens through music technology classes, music recording projects, hip-hop performances, and workshops on special topics relating to Music. The Arts Greenhouse was initiated at Carnegie Mellon by Dr Judith Schachter, Emeritus Professor in the History Department with the School of Music, and organized workshops in various locations in and near Pittsburgh. Participants scheduled time in the Carnegie Mellon School of Music Recording Studio. The Arts Greenhouse refocused its program in 2018 and is currently housed in the English Department at CMU.
