April 18, 2024 - 5:00pm

IDeATe Studio A, Hunt Library, Carnegie Mellon University

Join us to explore the inner workings of coffee roasting. How do roasters transform the seeds of a tropical plant into "coffee beans"? How does the roasting process blend art, science, and business? Do roasters have a role to play in making coffee more hospitable for people and the planet?

Hosted by John Soluri, associate professor in the department of history.
Coffee and light snacks will be served.

Participating Roasters:

  • Chuck Connors, La Prima Espresso Company
  • Scott Miller, 19 Coffee Company
  • Stephanie Gonzalez, Atelier de Fer Coffee and Tea
