Decolonized Futures

“Decolonized Futures” aims to examine and dislodge dominant and oppressive settler colonial narratives. Settler colonialism results in the cultural, social, and physical displacement—if not eradication—of Indigenous peoples. Indigenous Futurism is a movement whereby Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples undermine the violent legacy of these narratives by embedding counter narratives in a variety of art practices. This project will collaboratively create new Indigenous Futurist narratives through various modes, including music, visual arts, fashion, and film.
