Before you get your new phone
Enable DUO Instant Restore
Instant Restore transfers your DUO account information to your new iOS device as long as you’ve enabled iCloud Keychain.
Verify your phone number in DUO
Visit 2fa.cmu.edu, select Manage Devices, and verify your phone number is correct. If it’s not, add your current phone number as a secondary device.
Verify your personal email address on file
Your personal email address is a non-CMU email address you previously set up through an external email provider. Visit the Password Management page for verification steps.
After you receive your new phone
Log in to DUO
- If you used Instant Restore, restore your device and you’re all set!
- If not, update your device in DUO.
- Note: If you've changed your phone number, log in to 2fa.cmu.edu and select Request a Bypass Code. The bypass code will be emailed to the personal email address you have on file and will allow you to register your new device and phone number.
