Data Catalog
The Data Catalog provides a repository for sharing definitions for data elements used to manage university business. The catalog provides a workflow for data domain experts to create and approve data definitions. Approved catalog definitions aid in promoting data literacy; improving our understanding of our data and ultimately increasing trust in the data.
The Main Systems and Snowflake Catalog spreadsheet serves as a reference guide to CMU’s key systems and data housed in the Snowflake data lake, defining data categories, divisions, and stewards. It helps staff, IT teams, and analysts identify authoritative data sources and streamlines communication with the correct departments.
For questions about data from the Snowflake Catalog, email dgo@andrew.cmu.edu. To request access to data in Snowflake, review our Access Data page. Please do not reach out directly to the Data Steward.
