Use DUO Instant Restore for iOS

Did you get a new device, but kept the same number? Instant Restore transfers your DUO account information to your new iOS device as long as iCloud Keychain is enabled. Follow the steps below to get started.

Enable DUO Instant Restore

Planning to get a new iOS device? Before you do, follow the steps below to ensure you can use this feature:

1. Update your iOS device.
   Go to Settings > General > Software Update on your device and install any updates.
2. Update the DUO Mobile app. 
   Go to the App Store on your device, tap your profile icon and click Purchased. Search for DUO Mobile and tap Update to install any available updates.
3. Turn on iCloud Keychain.
   Follow Apple’s documentation to turn on iCloud Keychain.

Restore Your Device

1. Restore your device from an iCloud backup.
2. Download the DUO Mobile app onto your new device.
3. Open the DUO Mobile and follow the onscreen instructions.
4. Any backed-up DUO-protected accounts are restored. A success message displays when complete
