New Device?

Whether it’s a new smartphone or tablet, our updated new-device checklist can help you reconnect quickly—update DUO, secure your device, and connect to wireless. You may also notice it’s now easier than ever to manage your DUO settings, add new devices, and, if needed, request a bypass code directly from the site when you don’t have access to a registered device.

Don't Fall For Threats

Take a moment to secure your devices, accounts, and files, and protect yourself and the university from cybersecurity threats this academic year. Cybersecurity is everyone’s responsibility. By staying informed and proactive, we can all contribute to a safer, more resilient campus. Keep an eye out for more tips and resources throughout the year.

Time to Upgrade: Windows 10 Support

On October 14, 2025, Microsoft will stop free updates for Windows 10. Follow their guidance to upgrade to Windows 11If you’re unsure which operating system you have, navigate to System > About, where you’ll find the version listed under Windows specifications. Desktop Support Program (DSP) customers have already moved to Windows 11.

Our Communities

Computing Services engages with the campus through several topic-based communities, helping to connect individuals in similar roles or with similar interests and share updates.

Google Product Education Program (PEP)

The Google Product Education Program (PEP) serves as a hub for the CMU community to exchange best practices and discover the latest Google Workspace features. It fosters a connection among Google enthusiasts on campus.

Join our Google Group and receive an automatic invite to our quarterly webinar!

Digital Accessibility Office

This fall, the Digital Accessibility Office is excited to offer a range of virtual training sessions aimed at helping you create more inclusive content.

Join us on October 1 to discover Grackle Workspace, and on October 8 for our session on Accessible Spreadsheets as part of our fall webinar series.

You can also explore Grackle on your own for additional insights. If you’re looking for more in-depth training, consider applying for the CMU Digital Accessibility Allies program.

Centers of Excellence (CoE)

The Project Management and Change Management Centers of Excellence (CoE) are committed to educating our community. This fall, we're excited to announce the launch of the Process Improvement (PI) and Generative AI (GenAI) CoE. The PI CoE focuses on how documenting and evaluating current state processes through mapping and data analysis can lead to opportunities for improvement in terms of time, cost, or effort. Meanwhile, the GenAI CoE will serve as a vibrant community hub for learning and experimentation, equipping members with essential skills and knowledge to boost productivity and creativity.

Visit the CoE website for information on upcoming programs.
