Gone with the Winds

Gradations of Sound is a woodwind quintet comprised of graduate students from Carnegie Mellon University. The quintet performs regularly in Pittsburgh, most recently at the Symphony Splendour fundraiser for the musicians of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Our ensemble is passionate about bringing high quality wind music to the public and to that end has performed in recitals and an outreach program for elementary school students. The members of Gradations of Sound are Anna Cooper (flute), Natalie Beckenbaugh (oboe), Tony Mai (clarinet), Casey Ferguson (bassoon) & Austin Sposato (French horn). Together we enjoy exploring the myriad of colours, textures, and emotions available to this genre.
