5.2.5 Release Notes
The 5.2.5 release focuses on improving RSS functionality and making minor bug fixes.
Highlights
- Pages with RSS news grids now automatically update and display content from RSS feeds without having to republish the page. Note: RSS feeds generated by Cascade will still need to be published for news grids to display new News Articles.
- Users can now add an RSS feed URL directly to the page on which they would like to display an RSS news grid. This change removes the need for Feed Blocks. Note: For sites currently using feed blocks to display RSS feeds, the RSS feed in use will be applied directly to the page as part of the release. No action is required.
- RSS news grids now have more options. Choose to suppress images, publication dates, or article summaries, or open links in the same window.
- The limit for the number of articles that can be included in an RSS feed generated by the CMS was updated from 100 to 500.
- Ampersands (&) in page titles and summaries no longer produce an error in RSS feeds.
- Special characters in expand/collapse areas, including bio index pages, no longer produce an error.
- External navigation links now correctly open in a new window.
Actions
If you have external links in your navigation that are marked to open in a new window, a full-site publish is required to restore functionality.
