CMS 101: Basic Foundations
At a high-level view there are two general components of the CMS service, the Templates and the CMS. It's important to have a good understanding of these components from the beginning so that the pieces fit together nicely when you start managing a site.
Templates
The templates are the design and layout of your public-facing site; think of this as the front-end or the final product presented to your website visitors.
CMS
The CMS software is used to build your website within the templates; think of this as the back-end or the behind the scenes.
