Access the New Citrix Environment
Computing Services upgraded our Citrix infrastructure to the latest version, improving functionality and support. As part of this update, Microsoft Office apps also transitioned from Microsoft Office 2016 to Microsoft 365 for a more modern experience.
To facilitate this upgrade, we are transitioning to a new platform (apps.cmu.edu). We will retire the current platform (myapps.andrew.cmu.edu) on April 10, 2025.
Note: After you access the new environment, you will have to log in to Microsoft 365 with your Andrew userID and password the first time you open an Office application in Citrix.

See Add Another Account above.
Previously, some users were directed to MyOTPApps because it provided a higher level of security via two-factor authentication (2fa).
The new apps.cmu.edu service now includes 2fa, so most users should switch to apps.cmu.edu.
The only exception is those who login with AndrewID-admin accounts, where using otpapps.cmu.edu is required.
Switch Between Accounts
When you open the desktop client, Citrix displays the most recently used account (not the primary account).
To switch between accounts, complete the steps below:
- Open the Citrix Workspace application.
- Click the gear icon, and then select Switch Account.
- Click the account you want to switch to.
Remove an Account
You may decide to remove your account connected to the old environment (MyApps) if you added it back after resetting to the new environment and want to remove it again before we retire it in early April.
To remove an account, complete the steps below:
- Open the Citrix Workspace application.
- Click the gear icon, and then click Accounts.
- Select your MyApps account and click the minus sign (-) (Mac) or Remove (Windows).
