Video Production Retention Policy

The following policy applies to all Media Services video productions.

Single-Camera and Live Mix Productions
(Class Lectures, Guest Speakers, PowerPoint Mix)

After delivery of the final video, Media Services may:

  • Delete RAW footage and project files after 30 days
  • Host video(s) for 2 full semesters
  • Offer external hard drive backup of footage and project files for a fee, if requested.

Course Capture Productions (Kaltura Mediaspace)

After the video is posted online, Media Services may:

  • Delete RAW footage after video successfully posts
  • Host video(s) for 2 full semesters
  • Offer a copy of the video catalog on a data DVD, Box download or an external hard drive

Event Productions (Special Events, Commencement, Webcasts)

After the delivery of the final video(s), Media Services may:

  • Delete RAW footage and project files after 6 months
  • Host video(s) for 2 full semesters
  • Offer an external hard drive backup of footage and project files for a fee, if requested.

Note: At the producers' request, some RAW footage can be retained for future video projects.

Commercial and Studio Productions

After the delivery of the final video(s), Media Services may:

  • Delete RAW footage and project files after 12 months
  • Host video(s) for 2 full semesters
  • Offer external hard drive backup of footage and project files for a fee, if requested.
  • Retain and archive in the Media Service B-Roll library any supplemental footage (B-Roll) shot, or acquired, for the project, at our discretion.

Note: At the producers' request, some RAW footage may be retained for future video projects.
