Support Statement and Preferred Email Applications

We recommend using Google Mail and Calendar via a browser. If you are unable to use Google Mail and Calendar in a browser for technical reasons, we offer best-effort support for the following clients:

Apple Mail and Calendar
Outlook 365 for Windows

If you wish to use Google Mail and Calendar with an application not supported by CMU, please understand the risks involved. Visit Set up Gmail with a third-party email client for more information.

Supported Services

Configuration and basic troubleshooting for connecting to the appropriate campus email server and sending/receiving email.

Not Supported

vCard – electronic business card
Email features other than plain text email and Exchange calendar

Message Size

The maximum message size sent or received through the CMU email servers is 25 MB. The message size includes both the message body and the attachment.

Forwarding to Third Party Email Services

We are unable to improve email delivery performance when forwarding to a third-party provider. Delivery times can be improved by using a CMU supported email service.
