Solstice Wireless Presenting Software
Solstice is the wireless presentation software used in Registrar Classrooms across campus. Download the Solstice app to get started.
Present Wirelessly in a Classroom
- Tap the panel in the room where sharing will take place.
- Tap Wireless Presentation.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to Solstice.
Note: The IP Address of each room varies. You can install the Solstice app on your device in advance, but you will need to follow the steps above in the room.
Using macOS?
Follow the steps below to allow screen and audio sharing when presenting wirelessly using the Solstice app.
Step 1: Enable Desktop Sharing
- Open the Mersive Solstice app and enter the IP address shown on the monitor to connect.
- A prompt displays the first time you connect to grant screen recording access to Mersive Solstice.
- Click Open System Settings and enable Mersive Solstice under Privacy & Security.
- Click Quit & Reopen when prompted.
Troubleshooting
You are not prompted to grant access.
- Select Apple > System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Recording to enable Mersive Solstice.
Mersive Solstice does not appear in the Screen Recording apps list.
- Click the + below the apps list.
- Navigate to the location of the Mersive Solstice app.
- Select Mersive Solstice and click Open to add it to the apps list and enable screen recording permission.
Step 2: Enable Audio Sharing
Depending on your macOS security settings, you may need to enable desktop audio access for the Mersive Solstice app.
- Open the Mersive Solstice app and enter the IP address shown on the monitor to connect.
- Click Desktop on the Share Panel. The Mersive Solstice app will minimize.
- Click Sharing Desktop at the top of your screen to display the app window.
- Click Settings > Control. Audio sharing should be turned on automatically. If the speaker icon after the display name is gray with a red slash, click the icon to turn on audio sharing.
Note: If this is your first time sharing audio a dialog box will display indicating an additional driver needs to be installed. Follow the Install the Driver steps below and return. - Do one of the following to verify the output is set correctly:
- Navigate to Apple Menu > System Settings > Sound and verify that the Output is set to Solstice Desktop Speakers
- Click the speaker icon on the top menu bar and verify the output.
Install the Driver
A dialog box will display if this is your first time sharing audio indicating an additional driver needs to be installed. Follow the steps below to install the driver.
- The driver installer window may open behind the Solstice app.
- Click Sharing Desktop to minimize the app and continue with the driver installation.
- Enter your administrator password when prompted.
- Close the app if prompted.
- Reopen the Solstice app after the driver installation and connect to the display.
