Upgrade Checklist for Faculty and Staff

If you are sharing Lynda.com playlists or courses with your students or staff for enhanced course work or professional development, please review the checklist items below for important tips to support a smooth transition.

Before the upgrade:

  • Review your playlist content. Lynda.com shared playlists will not transition during the upgrade, so you will need to share the URL addresses for the individual Lynda.com courses to ensure access for students and staff following the upgrade.

After the upgrade:

  • Individual courses shared through your Carnegie Mellon Lynda.com account will redirect until March 2020. Please plan to share updated LinkedIn Learning URL addresses for ongoing access.
Note: Courses should always be shared through your Carnegie Mellon Lynda.com account to ensure free access. The course URL address will be university-specific and end with ?org=cmu.edu.

Link Type What happens after upgrade? What should I do? Example
Playlist URL: CMU-specific (ends in ?org=cmu.edu) The link will not redirect. It will point to the
