Manage Registrations for a Group

IT departmental administrators, student organization leaders, and support staff should use this page to learn how to manage network registrations for a group.

1. Learn Which Tool to Use

Computing Services currently maintains two registration systems. Use these guidelines to determine which system to use:

  • Use GetOnline for user networks (most common)
You’re connecting to the default user network in any building.
  • Use NetReg for all non-user networks*
You’re connecting to a network other than the default user network in any building. These networks host devices like printers, card readers, and monitoring systems.

*Excludes a small number of networks used for administrative purposes, including some for FMCS. If you don’t see your non-user network in NetReg, try using GetOnline.

2. Manage Network Registrations

Each task contains instructions for both registration systems. Choose which system to use based on the criteria listed in Step 1: Learn Which Tool to Use.
