Network Bridging Guideline

Purpose

With laptops and devices capable of connecting to both the wired and wireless networks, this guideline provides awareness that problems result when misconfigured. We reserve the right to modify this guideline as necessary.

Those using laptops and devices capable of connecting to both the wired and wireless networks.

Guideline Statement

If your computer is identified as a bridge, your wired outlet will be disabled to prevent any issues. Any other computers/devices connected to the campus network through that outlet will also lose connectivity.

Responsibilities and Procedures

When configuring network connections, do not use a wired and wireless connection simultaneously.
