Web Conferencing

Web conferencing is an online solution for holding live meetings, webinars and sharing video. A wired or wireless device and an Internet connection are the only requirements.

All of our web conferencing solutions support both voice and video conferencing, as well as other features, including Q & A, polling, shared annotation, discussions, shared whiteboards, screen sharing and much more. In addition, some of our solutions integrate with our Teaching & Learning spaces.

Zoom

CMU's preferred web conferencing solution, offering screen sharing, Q&A options, and recording functionality. You can host a Zoom meeting instantly, once you've installed the software. You get all of the basic Zoom features, like screen sharing, polling, and meeting recording capability, plus unlimited meeting time with up to 300 people, and all at no charge to you via the Zoom App.

Google Meet

A real-time communication solution through video for up to 500 people with the ability to have up to 1,000 attendees (500 contributors and 500 viewers). No need to create a personal Google account. Your Andrew UserID is already set up with Google Workspace for Education, so you can begin using Google Meet immediately to host meetings.

Cisco Webex

Cisco Webex is a suite of video conferencing and collaboration products, similar to Zoom. This cloud-based suite comprises software including meetings, messaging, and teams functionality. There is no fee associated with this service.
