We're excited to offer limited registration for Carnegie Mellon's self-guided Outdoor Campus Walking Route.
Learn more about our campus and community by walking an outdoor path around campus buildings and landmarks.
Because the health and safety of you and our campus community are our first priority, the Walking Route will be subject to the following guidelines:
- The route is entirely outdoors and self-guided.
- Registration for a designated time is required.
- Visitors cannot enter campus buildings except Warner Hall, where the restroom facilities are located.
- Visitors will not be able to schedule meetings with faculty, staff or current students while on campus.
When you register for the Walking Route, you will be able to walk an outdoor path around campus for one hour.
You may bring up to two guests with you.
A physical and online version of the Walking Route map will guide you around campus buildings and landmarks.
Minimum Requirements and Daily Self-Assessment
Visitors must review and agree to comply with the University's visitor protocols in order to register and be on campus.
You'll receive information about our Daily Symptom Self-Assessment (PDF)(opens in new window) in your reminder email. You do not need to submit this form to our office.
Vaccination Status and COVID-19 Testing
Visitors to Carnegie Mellon's campus are expected to be vaccinated against COVID-19 unless unable to be vaccinated due to disability or strong religious/moral conviction. When you register for a campus tour, you'll be asked to attest that you're either fully vaccinated or plan to have received a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of your campus visit.
Facial coverings (sufficient to cover the nose and mouth) are required on campus, regardless of vaccination status. They are required outdoors when less than six feet of others and indoors at all times except when eating or drinking.
While the Outdoor Campus Walking Route offers an opportunity to see our campus, we encourage you to also register for our online visit offerings to connect directly with current students and Carnegie Mellon staff.
