About Tartan Preview & Turn Tartan
The Tartan Preview and Turn Tartan open houses are designed to immerse you in all things Carnegie Mellon. You'll have the opportunity to hear from faculty, talk to current students, and ask any questions you may have about the life of a Tartan. Review session offerings below and be on the lookout for upcoming registration!
Tartan Preview is for prospective students and families interested in exploring all that CMU has to offer. Turn Tartan is for newly admitted students and families who are ready to start their CMU journey.
Schedule and Important Information
Our open houses help prospective and newly admitted students get to know our campus, learn about academic and artistic opportunities, meet faculty and hear from current students about their Carnegie Mellon experience. Detailed schedules for sessions are listed when registration opens.
Sessions and Offerings
You'll pick and choose which sessions to attend. When you register, you will select the information session and campus tour times that you want. When you arrive, you may be able to add or remove sessions to create your personal schedule, depending on availability. Past sessions have included:
Academic Sessions

Information Session & Campus Tour
We encourage you to invite your parents or guardians to join you for an in-depth review of Programs, Admission and Financial Aid at our specialized Information Session.
Visitors will be offered the opportunity to attend an in-person Campus Tour with one of our Tartan Ambassadors who will share their perspective while showing you classrooms, laboratories, traditions, and unique architecture around campus.
