Impact, innovation and intellectual rigor– does this sound like a professor you know?

Faculty, staff and students past and present are eligible to nominate a full-time professor for the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences’ Elliot Dunlap Smith Award for Distinguished Teaching and Educational Service.

Last year’s recipient, Steven Schlossman, professor of history and director of undergraduate studies, was nominated by a core group of alumni.

"I am truly honored to receive the 2017 Elliott Dunlap Smith Award," said Schlossman upon receiving the award. "The award reflects the very high standard of creative teaching, as well as research, that the entire History Department faculty has stood for since my arrival on campus in 1988."
