Honors & Pre-Professional Programs
Are degrees in the humanities and social sciences worth it? The short answer is: yes.
Humanities and social sciences graduates are highly sought after by employers for their top-notch analytical and communication skills, which can be applied in a diverse array of fields. The honors and pre-professional programs at Dietrich College are here to help you launch your academic and professional career.
General Education Program
All Dietrich College undergraduates, regardless of major, enroll in General Education courses. This set of required classes will build a strong foundation for the rest of your education.
The Gen Ed curriculum is designed to touch many disciplines and areas of study and to include learning experiences in the classroom and outside of it. First-year students enroll in a Grand Challenge Seminar, which gives you the chance to engage in interdisciplinary, hands-on learning focused on complex, real-world problems like climate change, food insecurity or racism. During your first year and beyond, you can personalize your program by choosing from a number of courses that meet the general education requirements.
