Lisa DiBenedetto Wysocki (DC 1979) Focuses on a New Fix for Animals in Need

Most people can’t scroll through their social media feeds without seeing a post about how COVID-19 is affecting our furry friends.

Carnegie Mellon University alumna and co-founder of animal welfare organization Fido Fixers Lisa DiBenedetto Wysocki (DC 1979) is no different. As adoption and fostering rates increase at shelters across the country, she’s helping connect family and friends to new pets — and making some shelter pets even easier to adopt.

“People are isolated at home and want to help. I think many want the joy and comfort a companion animal can bring to their lives during this time,” Lisa explains.

But she’s also keeping her eye on how her organization that offers low and no-cost spay and neuter surgeries can help people — and pets — in need, too.
