Declaration Dinner

RSVP to the Dietrich College Declaration Dinner

Carnegie Mellon University’s Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences is hosting the first-ever Sophomore Declaration Dinner on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 5 p.m. in the Cohon University Center’s Rangos Ballroom.

Sophomores in the Dietrich College who have declared their majors—and those who are still trying to decide—are invited to join their classmates and Dietrich College faculty members to celebrate this academic landmark, as well as the halfway point in their undergraduate journeys.

The dress code is business casual, and dinner will be provided. Students and faculty can enjoy a mobile photo booth, giveaways and a keynote address from Ricky Law, assistant professor of history.

Sophomore Sarah Zebar is excited to celebrate her recently declared major in economics and statistics.

“Even though I was certain from the beginning that this was the path I wanted to take, the idea of locking in one's field of study was still an intimidating one,” Zebar said. “Declaring is a simple process, but it's still a huge milestone."
