Bio
I teach in the Writing & Communication program. I’m at work on a multimodal book project on the poetics of stop-motion animation, supported by a fellowship from the American Council of Learned Societies.
Education
I received my PhD in Communication Arts (Film) at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and have held visiting appointments at Franklin & Marshall College and University of Pittsburgh.
Research
Areas of interest include animation aesthetics, narratology, film and media technologies, and the history of the U.S. film industry.
