English Department Welcomes Two New Members to the Faculty

Doug Coulson, Assistant Professor of English

doug coulsonWe welcome Doug from The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned his Doctor of Philosophy with a focus in Rhetoric and Writing. Before that, Doug received his Juris Doctor from Tulane Law School and practiced law for a number of years before pursuing graduatework in Rhetoric andWriting. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree from Oklahoma City University. Doug remains a licensed attorney in the state of Texas and continues to author litigation guides for lawyers in addition to his scholarship. He will be teaching Topics in Rhetoric: Argument (76-373/76-773) and Topics of Rhetoric: Rhetoric, Law, and Globalizations (76-475/76-875).

Kevin González, Assistant Professor of English

kevin gozalezKevin graduated from Carnegie Mellon in 2003 with a B.A. in Creative Writing and International Relations and went on to earn his Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, with a concentration in poetry, from University of Wisconsin-Madison and his Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, with a concentration in fiction, from Iowa Writers’ Workshop. He returns to us from Trinity College, where he was an Assistant Professor of English. Kevin is an award winning poet and author, as well as an editor of the poetry journal jubilat. He will be teaching Beginning Poetry Workshop (76-365) and Beginning Poetry Workshop (76-460).
