Olivia London and Jordan Stephenson Win Awards at 2013 Meeting of the Minds

Each year, Carnegie Mellon University holds the Undergraduate Research Symposium known as the Meeting of the Minds as a celebration of student research and creative works.  Students can give oral presentations on their research, design posters, display artwork, or give live performances.  Meeting of the Mind 2013 took place on Wednesday May 8.  The English Department’s Olivia London and Jordan Chalaine Stephenson were each given awards for their work.

London was given the Meeting of the Minds Award for Artistic Excellence for her work entitled “Dancing at the Edge: Writing About Performance.”  Stephenson was awarded the Meeting of the Minds Dietrich Humanities Prize for “Searching for Me: Discovering the Self through an Exploration of Religion and Race.”

Students interested in submitting their research or creative works to the Meeting of the Minds 2014 can learn more information on the Undergraduate Research Office homepage.  Submissions are generally due sometime in early April.
