Junior Madeleine Barnes Wins Writing Contest

Junior Madeleine Barnes has won The Women's Press Club Gertrude Gordon Writing Contest funded by the Pittsburgh Foundation. The $2000 prize was awarded April 16th at a dinner with The Women's Press Club.

The contest involved all participants interviewing the featured speaker in a one hour session. Following the interview, each participant had two hours to write a feature news article, and the best entries were then selected on a blind-judging system by three local journalists.

Madeleine is pursing a Bachelor of Humanities and Arts, with a focus on Creative Writing and Art. Congratulations, Madeleine!
