Assistant Director of Undergraduate Programs and Academic Advisor
Laura is responsible for advising undergraduate majors and minors in the Department of English, as well as students who express interest in our programs and courses. She also partners with the Director of Undergraduate Studies and the Department Head collectively to provide comprehensive undergraduate program management while recommending and implementing strategies to evaluate and improve the program holistically. As a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) with more than 15 years of experience in higher education, she takes seriously her students' personal and academic growth and success and feels honored to be a part of their Carnegie Mellon University experience.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Theatre Arts as well as a Master of Arts degree in English Literature, both from Duquesne University. A former actor with experience in front of the camera, in the voice-over booth, and on stage in Pittsburgh and London, Laura loves spending time with her husband Ross and their adorable cat Olive, as well as reading, watching movies, and dabbling in interior design. She can't wait to meet you!
