Kennedy Family Endowed Scholarship

The purpose of the Kennedy Family Endowed Scholarship is to provide financial support, based on both merit and financial need, to undergraduate students enrolled in the University's Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences who have demonstrated interest in studying the continuous relevance of Shakespeare's works. The amount of the scholarship varies from $1,000 to $3,000.

Eligibility

To be considered for this award, applicants must be Dietrich College primary majors, additional majors, or minors who are financial-aid eligible and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  1. Have taken a Shakespeare course with the Department of English at CMU.
  2. Be currently enrolled in 76-245 or 76-247.
  3. Be a Literature & Culture primary or additional major.
  4. Have taken or are currently taking a course with Professors Kristina Straub, Christopher Warren, and/or Stephen Wittek.

Process

  1. A call for applications will be made around the middle of the fall semester.
  2. Interested students will fill out an online application.
  3. The recipient of the scholarship will be announced at the end of the fall semester or very early in the spring semester.
