What is your favorite English course and why?

Mediated Narrative (76374) taught by Professors Ralph Vituccio and Andres Urzua-Tapia, is my favorite course. This course provides an opportunity to escape into a gateway to an uncharted future guided by two interesting and knowledgeable professors who inspire and care. Their expertise and passion illuminate our path as we navigate the intricate world of mediated storytelling. This course has not only been educational but also a source of motivation and mentorship, making it a cherished part of my academic journey.

Tell us something you're involved in here at CMU (clubs, tutoring, etc.).

Working behind the scenes at our school's Lunar Gala fashion show and CMU film festival was a whirlwind of creativity and excitement. In the weeks leading up to the event, our short film committee meticulously curated a captivating lineup of short films created by talented peers from across Pittsburgh. I also had the privilege of leading the cinematography team, bringing the designs to life through the magic of filmmaking. Being deeply involved in these two school organizations allowed me to not only contribute my strengths to showcase teamwork but also discover my own potential. Every school organization served as a testament to our school's collaborative spirit and unwavering passion in its unique way. The sense of community and pride is a precious gift that will continue to accompany every member of our tartan family on their individual journeys.

Have you ever had an internship?

Yes! I was a digital documentary intern for Warhol Creative. I developed creative films featuring the latest exhibitions and artist performances. I also facilitated the setups of documentary filming equipment and sets.

What have you learned from other students here at CMU?

At CMU, my peers teach me invaluable lessons that extend beyond the classroom. Through interactions with classmates from diverse backgrounds and fields of study, I gain a deeper understanding of teamwork, collaboration, and the power of diverse perspectives. Their distinctive insights have broadened my thinking, fostering creativity and innovation. I learn the importance of empathy, not only in my personal relationships but also as an essential skill in problem-solving. CMU's vibrant community has nurtured my profound appreciation for the interplay between different disciplines and has deepened my respect for diverse cultures.
