Bio

My research is largely situated in the intersection between literature and film, as I am interested in the connections between the written word and the visual. My senior honors thesis, “Ticky Tacky Terrain: Deconstructing Dominant Narratives of Suburban Media” traces the evolution of the image of suburbia in 20th and 21st century American culture across literature, film, and photography. This work reflects my fascination with the dialectic of city and suburbs and, more broadly, American popular culture. My research is also grounded in cultural and critical theory, specifically materialist and feminist criticism.
