Bio
Sharon McAndrews (she/her) is a part-time student in the Master of Arts in Professional Writing program and full-time staff at Carnegie Mellon University. She received her B.S. degree from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Kent State University and a M.A. degree from Georgetown University. Sharon currently serves as an associate director of prospect research in the university’s Advancement Department, where she applies her business research, data mining, and writing skills to identify new donors and communicate their potential to support the university through direct and in-kind giving to leadership. Earlier in her career, Sharon served in senior writing and employee communications roles in academic medicine, higher education, and in the health insurance and water & wastewater industries. She received a 2003 IABC Golden Triangle Award of Honor. Sharon also loves libraries and holds a master's degree in library and information science from the University of Pittsburgh. She has worked as an adult services librarian at Sewickley Public Library.
